Lauren Farrington and Vaughn Drozd Obtain a Favorable Jury Verdict!

Attorneys Vaughn Drozd of Nielsen, Zehe & Antas, P.C. (Chicago, IL) and Lauren Farrington of Sanders & Williams, LLC (Birmingham, AL) recently obtained a plaintiff verdict from a jury in the Circuit Court of Jefferson County - Birmingham Division (AL).

The case involved a defective city-owned tree that fell on top of a historic church in downtown Birmingham. The city denied responsibility for the tree failure despite the fact that the evidence showed the defect had been present for at least six years prior to the fall. 

The jury ultimately found the city negligent for failing to maintain, inspect and remove the subject tree prior to its failure. In doing so, the jury awarded the Plaintiff, Great American Assurance Company, the maximum amount of damages allowed by law.
